Privacy Policy

What We Are

Network Raleigh is an event discovery platform aggregating professional networking events across the Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill area. We do not require accounts, logins, or any personal information to use the platform.

What We Collect

Search Behavior (Anonymous)

When you search on Network Raleigh, we log:

  • The search query you entered
  • Which events appeared in results
  • Which event you clicked (if any)
  • The market you searched in (e.g., “rdu”)

We do not collect your IP address, device fingerprint, or any session identifier. We genuinely have no way to tie a search to a specific person. This is intentional.

Newsletter Subscriptions

If you subscribe to our newsletter, we collect:

  • Your email address
  • Your first name (optional)
  • Your interest selections (e.g., job fairs, networking, workshops)
  • The date you subscribed

You can update your interest selections or frequency at any time using the “Manage your preferences” link in every email. No account or password is required — the link contains a secure token that identifies your subscription. We recommend not forwarding emails to others as that link is specific to you.

We do not sell, rent, or share your email with any third party. Ever.

Event Submissions

If you submit an event through our “Add Your Event” form, we collect the event details you provide and your organizer email. Your email is used only to follow up on your submission and is not displayed publicly.

What We Don't Collect

  • No accounts or passwords
  • No IP addresses stored
  • No device fingerprints
  • No location data
  • No cookies beyond what Google Analytics sets (see below)
  • No payment information

Third-Party Services

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand site traffic — page views, traffic sources, and general usage patterns. Google Analytics does not receive any search queries or event click data from our platform. GA4 anonymizes IP addresses by default. You can opt out via the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

Cloudflare

Our site is served through Cloudflare, which processes network traffic for performance and security. Cloudflare's privacy policy applies to that processing.

Event Platforms

Events listed on Network Raleigh are sourced from Meetup, Eventbrite, Luma, and other public platforms. If you click through to register for an event, that platform's privacy policy governs your interaction with them.

Search Data as Public Insight

We may publish aggregated, anonymized search trends — for example, “most searched intents this week in the Triangle.” This data cannot identify any individual. It reflects collective behavior, not personal activity.

Newsletter

If you subscribe, you will receive a weekly or daily digest of events personalized to your selected interests. Every email includes a “Manage your preferences” link where you can update your interests, change frequency, or unsubscribe. Emails are sent via our own mail server.

Data Retention

  • Search logs: retained indefinitely in aggregate, anonymous form
  • Newsletter subscribers: retained until you unsubscribe
  • Event submissions: retained for review purposes, then archived

Your Rights

You have no account to delete because we don't create one. If you subscribed to the newsletter and want your email removed, use the unsubscribe link in any email or contact us at [email protected].

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy. Changes will be posted at this URL with an updated effective date.
